Sunday 27 September opens the West Indies ODI series against India at Greenfield International Stadium, Thiruvananthapuram, at 2:00 pm IST. Current Cricbuzz match information and NDTV identify this as the first ODI. The previous source field named calendars without linking the fixture; direct references were added on 14 September.
The earlier preview described coastal bounce and a red-soil ball without a match-specific source. Those claims have been removed. Neither inspected fixture page establishes the strip, bounce, humidity or later dew. A venue name cannot settle those questions before a current ground report is available.
This is a fifty-over fixture after India’s September T20I assignments. Our analysis: reassess the expected batting positions and bowling allocations for this format. A plan made for the Delhi T20Is cannot establish who will start or what role they will have at Greenfield.
The toss is one input, alongside the announced XI and an attributable description of the actual pitch. Do not assume that batting first or chasing is automatically preferable. A squad list is not the final playing eleven.
For C and VC, compare confirmed roles and likely involvement only after those checks. This is selection analysis, not a player recommendation based on an unverified surface. Check the contest deadline and rules separately in the RS9 GAME lobby; this preview does not publish a confirmed XI or score.
